Here is my Divination Quiz re-examined.

My score: 64 = Exceed Expectations! :D Really, I think I did quite well.

The results of my poll into our expectations of the Deathly Hallows were quite interesting. I had 12 respondants.

Of these, slightly more people think Harry dies than lives, 7:5. 2 people think he kills himself in some kind of sacrifice, probably because the newspapers told us so...

Other than the question of Harry's death, we seem quite united. 11 people think Snape is good. And, as the one to vote against, I've since changed my mind due to re-reading and re-thinking, so we're unanimous. 11 people think Ron lives; I maintain that he will die. Interestingly, 11 people think Hermione dies and one person abstained - what's that about?

So, yes... It's out in 8 hours time here. I'm avoiding myspace, facebook and msn until I finish it so as to avoid spoilers. I'll come on LJ (though I doubt there'll be anything to read!) but please be considerate and use cuts if you're discussing it, eh? Otherwise Volo will track you down and kill you.

Contains Order fo the Phoenix (book) spoilers.

I couldn't find a good Potter House Test. This is the best around, it seems :(

You scored 69 Gryffindor, 20 Ravenclaw, 10 Hufflepuff, and 4 Slytherin!

Well, we all know how to read this (because I'm too lazy and non-mathematical to do categories). Whatever you have a higher percentage in is where you're stuck - I mean PLACED. More Gryffindor than anything? Well, good for you. You're heroic and get off on dangerous situations. If you live past 20, it'll be a miracle. More Ravenclaw? Yes, you're the brainy one in the corner, but let's be honest, you're probably going to wind up more successful than these other schmoes, right? Very Hufflepuff? Stop giving me that look! Come on, you're the nice one! Sure the Gryffindors and Slytherins give you a hard time, but that's because they're more arrogant than you are. UberSlytherin? Eh... I'm sure you have some redeeming qualities somewhere, but overall, you're just.... kind of a big jerk most of the time, aren't you? Yeah. It's okay. We understand.

It's quite disappointing that none of these potter tests are actually any good.

Anywho... I've just finished The Order of the Phoenix again, and I have to say Umbridge is a brilliant creation. I don't think I hate any character more than her.

I have a little confession to make... I don't actually like Harry Potter, as in the character. I'm a Robot, and he's way too emotional. Nothing wrong with emotions, but I prefer to control my emotions rather than let them control me... he seems to have no self-control. And isn't the brightest of people either. I much prefer Hermione, Dumbledore and McGonagall.

Suspension of disbelief has never really been a problem with me for HP. However, the tiny size of Hogwarts really interferes with this. We know that Harry's year contains only about 40 people; that means to total wizard population of the UK probably isn't over 4000, right? Which is tiny... How could such a population merit a Ministry with 10 floors, or a hospital with 5 floors? (I'm guessing numbers... they're roughly right, I think). Also, the Daily Prophet's readership would be tiny... even if 25% of people bought a copy, that would only make the paper about 2 galleons per day! And the Quibbler's readership would probably be about 10...

Yes... Pottermania has taken hold of me.

Seeing as I don't have a job yet, I thought I may as well watch as many films as possible. 28 Days Later was on last night, and I loved it. I love zombie films in general - not because of the zombies, but because I love post-apocalyptic or dystopian film and books. They raise so many interesting questions.

I wonder what I would do in such a situation (yes, I know how unlikely it is to occur). I'm not sure whether I'd grab a kitchen knife and large pointy stick and struggle to stay alive, or whether I'd just overdose on some pills. And I wonder if, in such a situation, people really would abandon morality and aim to preserve themselves. The two main reasons I see to be moral are God and society. A zombie-ish situation would probably make one renounce faith in God, and society would have collapsed.

So, this came at just the right time:
